Parenting is a Joke
I'm a guest on Ophira's podcast!
Happy Holidays Subscribers,
I just had to tell you that I got to be a guest on “Parenting is a Joke,” comic Ophira Eisenberg’s fabulous podcast in which she talks to artists of various types working to integrate two essential parts of their lives: their creative work with their parenting. Which, as some of you may know, is one of my jams (see my essay “Writing & Parenting”).
Ophira is a phenomenal host, and our often hilarious conversation flowed freely between my first unfinished novel from 5th grade, to my daughter’s sense of humor and future as a comic, to what it’s like to do a midlife career pivot, to what “gentle parenting” really is (spoiler: it’s not as gentle as you’ve been led to believe!). I invite you to listen to the two episodes on your earbuds while you spend endless hours in the kitchen this season:
AND, in case you’re struggling with “Grandma wants a hug at the holidays, but my kids says no. What do I do?” have a look at my latest column for the Weston Observer.
Yours in gratitude,
